Hey guys, let’s talk about The Bengal Files box office numbers. The movie released on September 5, 2025, and you know what, it had to face really big competition from Baaghi 4 and The Conjuring: Last Rites. So from day one itself, it was not an easy run.

Weekend Performance
On Friday, the film started with around ₹1.75 crore. Next day, Saturday, it got some growth and made nearly ₹2.25 crore. Sunday went even better with ₹2.75 crore. So by the end of weekend, it was close to ₹6.75 crore. Not bad, but also not that strong if we compare with other releases.
Day 4 – The Monday Test
Now Monday is always tough for movies, right? And here also the film faced big drop. On the fourth day, it only collected around ₹95 lakh to 1.10 crore. With this, the total 4-day business is somewhere near ₹7.7 to 7.8 crore. Clearly the momentum not continuing like weekend.
Occupancy Numbers
On Monday, the overall occupancy was just 18%. Morning shows almost empty, only about 10%. Afternoon little better, and evening-night shows somehow pulled above 20%. If we see city wise – Chennai and Bengaluru done good with above 34% occupancy, Mumbai was fair with around 23%. But Hyderabad and Ahmedabad didn’t perform well, they stayed low.
Problem in West Bengal
One more big problem, friends, is that the movie was not released in West Bengal. Due to political issues, it couldn’t hit theatres there. And you know, losing that market really affected the overall collection.
Comparison with Baaghi 4
Now if we compare, Baaghi 4 is running way ahead. In same 4 days, it crossed ₹35 crore, while The Bengal Files is still not even at ₹8 crore. That’s a huge gap. Clearly audience is giving more love to action masala films than serious dramas right now.
Day-wise Collection Recap
- Day 1 (Friday): ₹1.75 crore
- Day 2 (Saturday): ₹2.25 crore
- Day 3 (Sunday): ₹2.75 crore
- Day 4 (Monday): ₹0.95 – 1.10 crore
👉 Total after 4 days: around ₹7.7 – 7.8 crore
Final Thoughts
So friends, The Bengal Files did okay in weekend, but Monday drop shows its real struggle. With no release in West Bengal and heavy competition from big films, this movie will find it hard to grow more. Next few weekdays gonna be very important – if numbers stay steady, then it can survive, but if not, then it will quickly slow down.
