The Nandamuri family are deeply saddened with the passing of Padmaja, wife of Nandamuri Jayakrishna and daughter-in-law of legendary actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR). She has passed away in Hyderabad on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the age of 73, because of age related health problems.
A Respected Member in the Family
Padmaja was a graceful and well respected member in the Nandamuri household. Married with Jayakrishna, NTR’s second son, she played a quiet but strong role to supporting the family through many ups and down in both cinema and politics. Known for her calm personality and kind nature, she gain respect not only inside the family but also from people who knew her closely.
Her presence was important in keeping the relation strong between the Nandamuri and Daggubati families, which are two of the most influence families in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. She also the sister of senior political leader Daggubati Venkateswara Rao, that make the bond between the families more close.
Final Days and Sudden Decline
Padmaja was unwell from few days and her condition become worse on Monday night when she get breathing problems. She taken to the hospital but sadly she not recover. Her passing created a big void for the family.
Condolences and Support
After the news come out, family members and political leaders rush to Hyderabad for giving their condolences. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who also NTR’s son-in-law, came immediate to be with the family. Many other relatives and leaders are also reach to support them in this tough time.

Padmaja will always be remembering as a dignified person in the Nandamuri family. Even though she keep a low profile, her steady support and kind nature leave strong impact on everyone.
Funeral and last rites details are yet not announce, but many family members, friends and leaders are expected to come for giving their final respects.
