Hello friends! How are you all? Finally, the wait is over. The most anticipated Telugu movie Kannappa, starring Manchu Vishnu and our beloved Prabhas, has been released today. I’m here to share my thoughts about Kannappa, a grand mythological Telugu film that hit the screens on June 27, 2025.
Story and Plot
Kannappa relates the narrative of Thinnadu, a tribal hunter who has no faith in God. But after many events in his life, he becomes a strong devotee of Lord Shiva. He begins offering meat and drink to the Shiva Lingam. The most powerful moment is when he gives his own eyes to God. That scene is very emotional and touching. This story is based on an old legend from Andhra Pradesh.

Cast and Performances
- Vishnu Manchu portrays Thinnadu, commonly known as Kannappa. Many people consider this his best performance. He acts with great energy, especially in the climax.
- Akshay Kumar plays Lord Shiva. He looks very divine and serious. His performance got good response from fans.
- Kajal Aggarwal plays Parvati and she looks graceful.
- Prabhas, Mohanlal, and Mohan Babu appear in special roles that are short but very impactful.
First Half vs Second Half
The first part of the film is somewhat slow. Some viewers feel it is boring and the VFX (visual effects) are not that great in the beginning. But the second half is very powerful and emotional. Many fans say the last 30–40 minutes give goosebumps. The climax is the primary feature and has a significant influence.
Visuals and Music
The movie was shot mostly in New Zealand, so the visuals look grand and beautiful. Some early scenes look simple, but overall, the production quality feels big and impressive. The music complements the spiritual tone of the story wonderfully.
Box Office and Audience Response
Kannappa released across India in multiple languages. On the first day, it collected around ₹12–13 crore. Many people on social media praised the climax, the acting, and the devotion shown in the film.
Final Thoughts
Kannappa is not a perfect movie because the first half is slow and needs patience. But the second half is very emotional and memorable. If you love mythological and devotional films, you will enjoy it. I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
